I often hear drummers (including myself) struggling to confidently play various contemporary music at freelance gigs because of how much material they need to memorise. To help solve this problem, I’ve made these one-page charts for a bunch of “Corporate Classics” in the hopes that drummers can add them to their iPads and play the songs at the right tempo, with the right groove confidently. Some of these tracks weren’t recorded to a click so the marked tempos are just a ballpark number. I also want to express that the goal wasn’t for the parts to be “perfect” but for the groove to be clear and the form confidently outlined. Plus it all needed to fit in one page so there would be no page turns!
A basic understanding of how to read drum sheet music is required. I encourage you to read the drum sheet music while listening to the song first, then try have a go at playing your drums along with the song, whilst reading the drum sheet music. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
